Install ViPNet Client

To install ViPNet Client on the ViPNet manager's workstation, you need:

• ViPNet OFFICE installation software.
• A key set (.dst file) for the client nominated as the official ViPNet manager.
• The ViPNet user password for the official ViPNet manager. You can find the user password for the client on the Keys tab of ViPNet Manager.

To install ViPNet Client:

1. Close any applications you have open.
2. Start the ViPNet OFFICE installation software by inserting the ViPNet OFFICE CD into the computer's CD drive or by double-clicking the downloaded application executable.

   The ViPNet OFFICE Setup screen appears:

   

3. If you have created key sets using ViPNet Manager (ie. you have a .dst file with the key set for the ViPNet Manager's workstation), select the I do have a dst-file with a key set for ViPNet Manager Workstation check box.
4. Click the Setup ViPNet Client button. The ViPNet Client Setup Wizard automatically appears:

   

5. Click Next to continue. The License screen appears:

   

6. Read through the license agreement and, if you are happy with the terms, select the I Agree option and click Next.

   

7. Type your name and organization. Click Next to continue.

   

8. To select a different install location, click the Browse button. Otherwise, click Next to continue. If the following message appears, click Yes.

   

   The Setup mode screen appears:

   

9. Click Next to continue. The Start Menu Options screen appears:

   

10. Click Next to continue.

    

11. Review your install settings and click Install.

    

12. Click Finish. If you are asked to restart your machine, click No.
13. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder containing the key set for the VipNet Manager's Workstation (the folder will be named after the client network node and will be located in the \NCC\KEYS subfolder of the ViPNet Manager installation folder).
14. Double-click the .dst file. The following message appears:

    

15. Click Continue.

    

16. Click Continue to install the key set.

    

17. Click OK and restart the computer.
18. When ViPNet Client starts, type the ViPNet user password of this ViPNet Manager workstation. A message appears confirming that key sets were received for the client. Click OK to continue.
19. After ViPNet Client is successfully installed, you need to configure ViPNet Client on the ViPNet Manager workstation.
