The number of visitors and participants of the exhibition proved the increasing importance of IT security. Infotecs presented its encryption solutions at stand 12.0-446, once again demonstrating the flexibility of its ViPNet technology. Security experts and visiting specialists discussed how ViPNet products can be employed in industrial control systems, critical infrastructures, and mobile devices. The Infotecs team also showed Raspberry Pi single-board computer use cases.
"A lot of visitors were enthusiastic about our brewery showcase", comments Josef Waclaw, CEO of Infotecs GmbH. "With this example, we could clearly demonstrate how attacks to industrial systems are carried out and how they can be prevented with ViPNet. ViPNet successfully detects and blocks such forms of attacks as man-in-the-middle and man-on-the-side, as well as illegally manipulated data packets sent from hacked SCADA systems to the control systems." Mr. Waclaw continues: "The it-sa exhibition in Nuremberg is one of the most important branch events for us. We are already planning to participate in it next year."
With the ViPNet technology, any IP-compatible device, be it a desktop PC, a smartphone, a tablet or an industrial and critical infrastructure, can be encrypted end-to-end. The ViPNet technology is considered a highly secure encryption solution in the enterprise area, as it makes man-in-the-middle (MITM) and insider attacks impossible.
