products provide a means for configuring and controlling a VPN (virtual
private network) according to the customer's requirements,
incorporating the critical elements for a secure operation of the VPN
as a whole and of every network/machine and application connected to

our history
Infotecs (Information Technologies and Communication Systems), one of
Russia's oldest high-tech companies, was founded in1989. At present,
the company is a key player on the Russian VPN and TCP/IP security
software market.
Over the last sixteen years, the company has been developing its
proprietary corporate networking and information protection products
and managing major projects aimed at building private and public
communications networks.
The important milestones in the history of Infotecs are:
 Early 1992
- production of the "Infotecs Virtual Private Network" DOS version.
1992-1993
- Infotecs manages the creation of a fixed corporate network for the RF
Savings Bank, which allows connection with a number of the Bank's
regional branches via Rostelekom's communications channels; and
installs fixed telephone networks for the oil-and-gas industry.
1994 - a
pilot virtual private network for the RF Central Bank is launched based
on the Sokol-Bankir satellite communications network. It was later
extended to network around 40 RF CB branch banks across the country and
is still in operation.
1995-1996
- Infotecs manages the building of a trunk radiotelephony network in
the Republic of Kalmykia. In 1999-2000, the company modernized this
network and put in operation a new digital long-distance telephone
network.
1996-1997
- Infotecs wins a 20-percent share of the domestic market of security
appliances for the finance and banking sector.
1997-1998
- Infotecs manages the installation of a digital public telephone
network in Southern Russia. At present, the network services over
12,000 subscribers, including 2,000 businesses, in the cities of
Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog with the total population of over 2 million.
The network has the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate. A Windows version of the "Infotecs Virtual Private Network" is
launched. This allows the company to retain its sales volume and
increase its share in the emerging Internet applications market in the
wake of the 1998 financial crisis;
1999-2000
- creation of the ViPNet security software line. A number of products,
particularly ViPNet Corporate and ViPNet CUSTOM, were accorded
widespread recognition among customers. Infotecs networking and
information protection solutions are receiving a rising recognition
with corporate users and public offices. Infotecs commissions an
Internet subnetwork for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The company's
solutions find application at a number of regional railroads
administered by the federal Railway Ministry. They are also implemented
by metallurgy sector traders, brokerage firms, telephone companies,
Internet providers, etc . In 1999 Infotecs became Russia's first
Managed Security Service provider providing secure access to the
trading data base for the subscribers of REUTERS services.
2001-2002
- The ViPNet technology marketed by Infotecs becomes the most
widespread Russian software solution for VPN creation. Based on the
ViPNet technology, VPN for the RF Pension Fund is being launched,
allowing connection with thousands of users in all regional branches of
the Fund.
2003 -
Infotecs released ViPNet™ VPN product line for all major
operating systems - Windows, Linux, Free BSD, Sun Solaris. The new
generation of ViPNet™ VPN products includes a very
flexible VPN client for remote and mobile access to corporate networks.
The ViPNet VPN client provides easy working through GPRS terminals,
WiFi network devices, different kinds of xDSL modems, etc. It has
allowed our corporate clients to reduce their expenses to maintain
corporate networks substantially.
To support customers outside of Russia Infotecs established a German
daughter company - Infotecs GmbH - located in historic Potsdam outside
of Berlin, which successfully has been developing a partner network
since 2003, providing services to resellers and customers. Pilot
projects have been successfully initiated in the field of healthcare,
lawyers, financial institutions and other corporate business.
2004 - INFOTECS GmbH has started to penetrate the domestic and
international VPN markets. Major alliances with local and international
resellers have been made. ViPNet offers now a powerful feature package
with enhanced functionalities for different businesses. ViPNet OFFICE
and TUNNEL have been optimized for SMEs. Especially the new business
model of the Managed ViPNet-VPN Service (MVS) has met with appreciation
by ISPs and IT-resellers.
2005 - Infotecs continued evolving its VPN solutions, adding extended scalability and support for the modern communications technology. Major enhancements included addressing to the VPN objects through DNS servers and improving VPN functionality in the environment of the complex large-scale networks with dynamic NAT and various types of network equipment (proxy-servers, routers, firewalls, and so on). The company released new versions of ViPNet Safe Disk and launched ViPNet Office Firewall 3.0 for the SMEs and individual customers.
2006 - Infotecs customized the application of its solutions to the complex IT environments, proving versatility and reliability of the ViPNet technology. NTR Support was acquired to improve customer service by providing remote support, training and presentations. The company held the first seminar to deliver up-to-date information about ViPNet product line to its partners. Alongside the agenda included technical discussions and appraisal of the Infotecs partner policy. The positive feedback received from the seminar resulted in the decision to make it an annual event.
2007 - Infotecs delivered Windows Vista compatibility for the majority of its products. ViPNet solutions are extended with new features for improved usability. ViPNet OFFICE consistently evolved with several releases and a new release of the ViPNet Safe Disk was launched. Infotecs received the Microsoft Certified Partner designation for the quality of its products and customer service and signed a partner agreement with Kroenert Infotecs GmbH.
Infotecs is a member company of the Infotecs Group, which also includes
three Local Exchange Carriers under the brand name "Infotecs Telecom"
located in several cities in the Southern District of the Russian
Federation.. and the Infotecs Internet Trust, a security service
provider in the Central District of the Russian Federation. The rapid
growth of the Group relies on its proprietary ViPNet technology which
is not only a comprehensive security solution, but is also instrumental
in ensuring a more efficient business management.

As the Internet becomes ubiquitous and more and more companies set up
Internet-based operations, we focus on offering VPN solutions based on
open-global-network technologies and on solving clients' telecom and
Internet security related problems, including protection of LANs,
database servers and applications, individual workstations and mobile
users.
With 2008, Infotecs has completed a broad product line including the
full range of security products from simplest utilities for encryption
and personal firewalls up to scalable and powerful VPN solutions and
PKI systems under brand name ViPNet™.
The growing number of mobile users is likely to spur the demand for
networking solutions providing secure access to corporate networks from
the outside world. This technical challenge is uniquely mastered by ViPNet™.
ViPNet VPN is a software based VPN which differs from classic VPN
solutions by the following key points - client to client connectivity,
frequently used integrated communications applications, ease of
implementation in existing business applications, cross platform
support. The most advanced product ViPNet Custom also includes an
integrated PKI system to support B2B platform exchange in an absolutely
protected mode.
To maintain its market positions, the company now focuses on building
an efficient network of partnerships that to promote and support ViPNet
technology and service to its users worldwide. On the R&D side, the
company is planning to further develop the ViPNet product line with due
regard to scalability and usability, and the need to provide a higher
network throughput. Infotecs R&D mission is to create on the base
of a VPN solution easily manageable and inexpensive security services
for customers from SME markets. Infotecs is open to a technological
cooperation with other well-established telecommunications and internet
companies with the ultimate aim to meet the end-users' demands in the
best possible way.
The company's main objective is to develop and promote networking
solutions that enable a dynamic business to make the most of the
